I could not find a post related to Decibel or "Noise" levels in a Mini Cooper, so here goes.

I have recently measured the road noise in my 2003 Cooper S and came up with the following numbers while driving on the freeway (worn asphalt from studded tires) at 60mph 6th gear, 205/45/17 Toyo Proxes 4 tires and lowered with H-Sport springs.

Measured under the "A" weight I had a reading of 80db.
Measured under the "C" weight I had a reading of 94db.

On new asphalt the readings were:

Measured under the "A" weight I had a reading of 73db.
Measured under the "C" weight I had a reading of 88db.

I am using a Digital meter from Radio-Shack, not the most expensive or the best sound meter available I will admit, but hey, I'm no audiologist and did not want to plunk down allot of cash for an occasional use item.

So lets see your numbers if you have them.
