what 9 to 5'er do you do to fuel your mini passion?
Interesting thread! That other one, where we posted pics of what else lives in our garages, had me wondering what you all did to afford those Lambos, custom Vettes, etc.
As for me, I'm a Technology Training Specialist and webmaster for our local school district. I teach the teachers how to use their classroom technology most effectively via online and live training, podcasts, a newsletter, and so forth. In previous careers, I was a Senior Courseware Developer for a major aerospace contractor, a Technical Artist, a Draftsman, etc.

Art Teacher!
I love it but the education system in this country stinks royally so I'm on the hunt (again). I teach anything and everything, from Pottery to Graphic Design to Drawing and Painting.
So I'm probably going to do what majority of my peers do at this point. Say screw it, go back for my Masters and work some crappy part time job.
In the meantime, I do my own art and sell it on the side where I can.
Check it out, buy stuff...

I work for my wife! I used to design plastic products and tooling. If your coffee has a Dart Container lid on it I probably designed it.
My relationship with Molly started at MOTD in 2008. She raised dairy goats in Tennessee and had invented a line of herbal dietary supplements for animals. We moved the biz here to Michigan and work out of our home, selling over the 'net. It really is a dream come true after working 8-5 for 25 years.

I'm a test driver for a multinational automobile manufacturer headquatered in Germany. I cant reveal my empolyer, but they are known by three letters, first is B, and third is W. I critique cars produced by one of their wholly owned subsidiaries, again I cant revel the name, but it's a four letter name that some people equate to very small. It's truly a tough job driving these small cars every day, I don't get any days off. I'm required to drive on local streets, highways, and challenging winding roads. Yeah I know what your thinking, I should be looking for a new job, but I'm afraid of change, and I need to support my family. I've been asked to drive their standard and something called their S models. Recently I was required to drive something they refer to as their Club Man model. I thought that would mean I would have to learn how to play golf and join a country club. But I was mistaken. Anyway a job's a job, and I just wake-up each morning and say I should be thankful that I'm employed. Just when I thought the worst was behind me I've been told I'll be required to drive their newest vehicle that they claim will be better than a dog sled on snowy roads. I'm starting to think it's time to learn how to flip hamburgers at a local eatery.

Retired from the USAF after serving 22 years and now work for the USAF as a civilian doing quality assurance work overseeing two contract aircraft maintenance contracts on VIP C-40 (Boeing 737) and C-37 (Gulfstream V) aircraft (6:30 AM to 3:30 PM M-F).
In university, getting my BASc in electrical engineering. I work co-op, which gets me some money--I'm at RIM doing software development at the moment.
Not really sure whether I will jump into a career in engineering. Med school is still on my mind... :P
