HELP:: How do you convert MINI to D2S HID bubl??

Hello guys.
I have a 2006 MINI Cooper S (R53).
My Cooper comes with a HID bulb built-in into the igniter (so it's ONE piece).
***See attached pic 1 ***

My question is: HOW do I convert from the factory bulb and ingniter to standard D2S HID bulbs??
**See picture 2**

The first pic is a standard D1S bulb, unfortunately more expensive than D2S because of the built-in igniter. RealOEM.com lists 2006's as using D2S but I guess MINI switched over at some point. The R56 also uses D1S.

Just Googled and there seem to be D2S to D1S convertors available: http://www.xevision.com/hid_xesparq.html (but $70 each).

You sure it's not just a D2S push fitted in? Mine just pulls out from the backing.
