Seems like a Fair Price, but I'd get the VIN and to a search to make sure they know what they are saying, also pull a CarFax, you should be able to tell by that if all the Services have been done and by whom. Take it for a Test Drive, if you haven't all ready...listen, feel, and DON'T make them an offer until you've done your homework...it may end up being NOT what you are looking for...if you know what I mean??!!
I assume you know what a "good" MINI sounds and feels like, if ths one does'nt feel or sound right take a pass. Pay particular attention to the gear box and clutch, no slop or glitches. Same goes for brakes and electrical appliances, take a good look at all the body panels, no ripples, or misaligned trim, funny paint reflections, any hints of rust, tires wearing evenly, engine compartment relatively clean. Just be satisfied this is the car you want, no qualms going in. Do pull a Car Fax to check on its sevice record, accident record, no water damage, because try as they will to dry it out never 100
% clean. Good clear title. And while many people like to skip it have a trustworthy mechanic take a look, have it up on the lift, look at it up there yourself, sometimes you can get some real surprises.
The price sounds OK, offer 10k, 9.5 might insult them, but who knows how long it has been on the floor so try whatever you fee like. Never felt like I could really hurt a used car salesman's feelings.
