SOOOO my question is, did any one have a problem getting the 15K oil change/service after only half a year?
why would you?
Does the service indicator say that you need an oil change? As long as it says it needs it you will be fine.
Buy, if you do more highway driving, your interval might be longer. I did about 14k highway miles my first year, and the car says the first service is not due until 20k miles.
My car hasn't requested an oil change yet but she has gotten 2. One after break in 2000 miles or so and another one at about the 10k mark (6 months after delivery).
I've put about 5-6000 miles in 3 months so far... And I have to take my MINI in for a power steering pump failure, and two oil leaks... Good thing I got the extended warranty.
We bought our 2009 GTI in Oct of '08. It has 38k on it now and went out of warranty in November.... His commute is about 70 mi/day and we've taken it on some nice trips. I expect the MINI's mileage to stay a little lower since I don't commute as much.
The way we put mileage on cars, you'd think we just don't like warranties! Then again, I don't like winter very much, so maybe I'm just trying to hurry along global warming

You'll have to move to Russia then.
Climate change is giving North America colder winters.
