Ins company wouldn't give me the actual estimate or photos but said damage was "consistent" with my statement of events. Turns out that I scratched the wheel rim, which needed to be replaced. Also, the cover around the tire (bumper/wheel cover?--the plastic looking part below the fender and above the tire-driver's side) needed to be replaced. Damage total revised from an original $1,930 to $1,340. The revised amount came from my ins. company. Thanks for your help. It was a new car so I get why she'd replace things for scratches....

Wow some People are just insane. Could have replaced all that for less than my deductible. They'll probably get more damage when they curb rash out there rim.

The good thing is no one got hurt. The bad thing is this incident will probably put a dent in your insurance premium. Also, like someone stated earlier, you should always file a police report. The last thing you want is to get taken to court and have the plaintiff walk in with a fake neck brace.

Of course no one got hurt. He tapped a parked car and scratched a Mini's rim. $1300 to replace a rim and a wheel liner! Must have been a Klassen rim or something!

Sounds pretty pricey. My parked MINI got hit by a poor college kid. I was ready to take care of things on the QT, but dad went straight to insurance (her Honda Fit got *racked*.) Scratched wheel, dinged (rear) fender trim and broken reflector was under $600 as estimated by AllState.

Edit: Hey, if you know the shop, have them give you the rim - you bought it... Can probably sell it to absorb a bit of the deductible.
