[MINI] Cooper Bikes

Anybody hear of the new [MINI] Cooper bikes coming out, I got an email about them the other day. These are from Mike Cooper based out of the former John Cooper Motorsport/Garages in East Preston, West Sussex, UK. The birthplace of JCW, now making [Cooper] bikes. Here's the info:

"Thank you once again for registering your interest in Cooper Bikes.
Our team are busy preparing for the introduction of our new street bike range. The Bikes will make their first appearance at the Earls Court Cycle Show on press day, Thursday 8th October and will be on show to the public on 9th, 10th and 11th October.
Our website: www.cooperbikes.com will go live on October 8th and from this point internet orders can be accepted for Bike deliveries starting in January 2010.
Best Regards
Mike Cooper

So, these are going to be like normal pedal bikes, with some MINI touches?

Doubt it. They will probably be hopped up street bikes, kinda like what Cooper did to Mini's. They say single speed, so who knows, they might be fixed gear stunt bikes.

It'd be sweet if they were foldable bikes, so that they easily fit in our MINIs.

I hope they will be proper bikes, and not BMX bikes.

Think its gonna be the single speed (forward and reverse with no derailer, sprockets, brakes, cables) that look like bare bones 10 speed. All the hipsters ride these bikes. With a comfy seat might make a nice pit bike.

My friend visiting Taiwan told me today they saw a MINI brand bicycle that is the fold up kind. I found a video on youtube that shows what they look like in this crazy japanese bike shop.

HD version here, went kind of laggy for me:

Here's people riding them, looks like they have multiple gears:

I have a hard time understanding $1300 for a single speed bike, especially if I'm not competing in the Olympics with it or something!

You people must have a lot more money than I do......
