I had the car towed in for another problem that just surfaced. Got an 09 Clubman loaner.

We'll see what's wrong this time!

Actually, it kinda sucks! I've noticed that the R56 has pretty poor AC in general, though.
But hey, beggars can't be choosers.

As stated earlier in this thread MINI does not promise you a loaner/rental when you bring your MINI in for service or repairs. It is not part of the warranty. Under special circumstances your dealer might be re-imbursed for providing you with an Enterprise Rental Car.
Dealerships that provide Loaner Cars are under no obligation to do so, and do so as a courtesy.
Niello MINI has a limited number of loaners since April 1st of this year.
They are available by reservation, or when available for substantiated safety or driveability concerns.

Thanks for the clarification, Hans.
Back when I was dealing with Sal Talarico at MINI NA, he had me under the impression that dealers are able to opt-in to either the loaner fleet or Enterprise, and that the program would be subsidized by MINI.

To everyone else:
My AC still isn't fixed. :( As I mentioned earlier, I had the car towed in because it was running rough and threw a CEL. The dealership was nice enough to put me back into a loaner.

Turns out there was evidently a damaged fuse installed. I'm told this appears intentionally damaged?!? I guess anything is possible given that I bought a house in a lousy neighborhood. Concerns me though. Is consistent with my wheels being stolen earlier this year.

Dealership wants the loaner back once again, since my towed-in problem has been fixed. I'll be AC-less once again.

Hope the AC part comes in soon, and I'm able to get it fixed.

Oh- the loaner has a wicked squeak in the back seat, maybe you can have it checked out, Hans?

UPDATE:
MINI goes in on Tuesday to have the AC fixed. Finally.

The disappointing part is that the dealer is making me PAY for a rental car. Will probably take 2 days.

MINI train of thought: "Make your customers as uncomfortable as possible, while taking the least amount of responsibility."

It's not MINI. It's you're dealer.

That really does suck. It's over 100 here in Texas too and I can't imagine being without A/C. This is just something that I've noticed, and it may just be my imagination, but my Dad's R53 has Auto A/C and my R56 has manual A/C. I've noticed while riding in his and driving mine that the Auto A/C doesn't seem to work as well as the manual A/C. But that could be entirely wrong. Does your car have Auto A/C and did the loaner have it? I would be interested to find out if my observation is, in fact, true or if it simply appears to give off more air because you are directly controlling it. Any thoughts?
