The Official JCW Owners Club
Unless there are two definitions of a factory JCW car, they were "factory" starting in '06. If you ordered a 2006 JCW car, it arrived that way from the factory and the dealer added or changed nothing.
no disrespect!!
You do have a cool mini! However the thread is for 2009+ JCW mini's. That said we are all mini owners and ALL MINI's are very cool!
The distinction is that what came from the factory as a JCW starting with 2009 is not available in kit form. It has a bigger turbo running at 19psi boost, larger diameter exhaust, stronger pistons, etc. along with some different trim items.
Hello,
I have a FJCW MINI that is registered in 2008!! They have been produced for the European market for several years prior to 2009. The only difference between yours, and mine is the steering wheel is on the other side of the car
I have just purchased my 2008 with only 11,000k's on the odometer.
Goes like a scalded cat
Cheers,
Ken

No, "several years prior to 2009" doesn't work.
The Gen 1 cars used the supercharged Tritec engine (Chrysler/BMW) 2001 to 2006 (2008 for the Convertible). The Gen 2 cars, 2007-on (2009-on) were turbo Prince engined (Peugeot/Citroen) cars.
The chronology on the engines, states of tune and model year show up here:

Granted, European introduction of models is shortly before US introduction, so the lines are somewhat fuzzy. We didn't get factory JCWs until the 2009 model year. However, as I said, the parts in the factory JCW option were not available in kit form. That's why people use "factory" to distinguish from the JCW kits, even though in the case of the 2006 GP for example, those upgrade pieces were installed at the factory. But, the JCW kits were all external parts. The factory JCW option had some different internal and external parts.

I bought mine at the end of August 2009 (built sometime in June as I remember) and the 2010s were not out at that point. Actually, in thinking about it, I could have still ordered a 2009, but it wouldn't arrive until much later in the year. So, I'm guessing 2010s would probably not have been available near the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010.
Seems to me that they also group the JCW production runs. I update the 2009 JCW Registry v2.0 in the Gen 2/JCW Garage area. If you look at the last 5 digits of the VIN, the Coupes, Convertibles and Clubmans each have their own groupings.

So this is for any 2009+ JCW R56, right?? For some reason I thought you meant that it was only 2009. Anyway, I have a 2011 fJCW, so if I could join, that'd be awesome! His name is Vincent and we live in Utah :3

The 2009 JCW was the first factory version of this model. That might be the reason we have not seen a Owners List as of yet. I figured it's time and we are due
