Just FYI, DeLoreans were never painted. They were bare so that was the actual metal. It'd be interesting to see a MINI done that way. I've heard from some DeLorean owners that they painted their cars because they suffer from "DeLorean's disease" which is caused by corrosion stains. The owners told me that if you didn't know of any deep scuffs on the car body and any water or even sweat from buffing the metal landed on it, it would turn light brown a week later. That's why they painted them but this is rare.
