$0 Down $ Deposit - 36 month lease!

A friend just told me that he heard a radio add for $0 down $0 deposit MINI lease offer. Ref: http://www.miniusa.com/#/financialServices-m.
I'm guessing it's too late for us present owners.

I'm not a big fan of leasing. Even with no money down, at the end of three years you've paid nearly $12K, with nothing to show for it. If you purchase the same MINI for $22K, it will be worth much more than $10K after three years. In the lease example on the MINIUSA site, the residual is 70%. If this is accurate, your purchased MINI would be worth over $15K at the three year mark. You could buy it, sell it after three years, and only be out about $7K, instead of $12K. No thanks on the lease offer.

Add to the fact that you're limited to 10k miles a year.

IMO the only benefit to driving a leased car is if someone else is footing the bill. Basically an extended rental agreement. No thanks!

$0 does not include first month payment of $319 that is due at signing, tax, title, or dealer processing fee(usually about $400). So it is $0 down but in reality about $1500(used VA tax of only 3% and VA title fees of $105) due at signing. You could just roll all of that into the lease but now you payment is closer to $400 a month. If you want something more than the Sport Package and Premium Package and auto trans then start adding on the $$. Also there is a $350 fee for turning in the car at the end of the lease.

It looks like you can get a MINI with practically nothing to start with and for a fairly low monthly payment. Thats how they get you in the door, then you drive it and then you build one on the configurator and shockingly it is more than the 22,200 that this lease is.

This offer has actually be around for at least a few months, but I don't know of any customer at our dealership that has done it.

MINI lease

I can never qualify for a lease. I drive between 28 and 35k miles every year. Besides, by purchasing the car, it is something I own. Not a fancy rental plan where one pays just for the use of the car and, if they decide to purchase at the end of the lease, they pay more than if it was originally a purchase.
