Desert MINI of Las Vegas
Desert MINI of Las Vegas
So last Sunday I decided to look at the 09 Minis on the lot. Had quite a few of them. But they had a $500 market value markup on the price. Not good! So I decided to leave, and I notice the door to the building is ajar. I call the cops to let them know about it. They arrive pull their guns out, and go inside. They found no one inside and the back door was also unlocked. Talk about lack of security....They took my info and said I can leave. I was nervous this could backfire on me due to the cameras on the lot overlooking the new cars. Someone could of gone in and steal keys, paper work with customers personal info etc. Im glad I didnt touch the glass as I was bout to look in the window at the car on display. Thats when I saw the door ajar. Oh all the major car dealers are closed here on Sundays.

when I was there in July at the height of high gas prices they literally had no dealer stock and save for a 06 MC CVT no used MINIs at all. A sales guy also told me they only do the markups for in-state customers, and those ordering from out-of-state did not pay a markup, which made NO sense.
Plus the BMW side had bailed so the 'ship seemed awfully large for MINIs.

when I lived there (10 years ago) Sahara and Decatur didnt seem that bad....
ha ha! last time I was there a bunch of police were just leaving after arresting a guy. Aparrently the guy was upset and had been waving a gun around the customer service area
. When I asked the casher what had happened, she acted like it was no big deal, happened before, probably happen again. A few were somewhat shaken up, but the majority just went on like nothing happened.

Only in Vegas, I guess.
A couple of years ago at AMVIV when my car got shot at on the strip, somebody from Desert MINI was the first to come to my rescue and had the service crew put in great effort to clean out the glass and make my car safe for the journey home.
Well done, Juiceman. I think you should negotiate that $500 gouge away. The problem with these "market value mark ups" is that there are people out there who are willing to pay it.
