I was thinking of getting a plate that says "BEAST". Good? No? Yes? Maybe?

TTY0 (zero) is the plate on my Vue
TTY1 is on my Clubman S
TTY2 is on my hubby's Justa

You really have to be a Unix geek to get these though.

I actually saw a DS/B MCS parked on my block the other day with the license plate RFIDDY6 and I thought it was pretty cool.

Let me guess, you must use minicom to connect to your terminals.

Hehe!! Picked up TTY0 years ago while working for a local ISP. All of us being geeks, it never occurred to us what that would look like to laymen. I was just thinking they'd never figure it out until one asked me if that stood for "talk to you online" at which point I screamed and rent my clothing and spread ashes all over me.

I'm actually doing most of my computing these days on OSX, but no one would ever figure out "ttys000". heh

Awesome, a fellow Miniac and OS X user!

Code:
$ uname -a
Darwin jango-fett.local 10.2.0 Darwin Kernel Version 10.2.0: Tue Nov 3 10:37:10 PST 2009; root:xnu-1486.2.11~1/RELEASE_I386 i386
I forwarded your plate images to my co-workers...they'll get a kick out of that too.

To make it more confusing, I have a Mac Mini hooked up to my tv. Hrm, wonder if I can get a sticker of a Mini front end to stick on the front of that...haha.

I was thinking about personalizing it 2SM4YOU. Do you think that would offend the non MINI enthusiast who thinks they couldn't fit in one? I just don't want to get my car keyed.

Mine says THEWRKS & it came with the car. If it hadn't, I was going to go for ROLRSK8.

Although I was told this is borderline crude (okay, beyond borderline) in the UK, I was encouraged to go for this plate by my British friends. Because after all, he is!

I'm gonna resurrect this thread because it's a good conversation

I'm thinking about getting a vanity plate too. My fiance nicknamed my 08 MCC "The Brown Bulldog" and I was thinking of this (I live in Ohio):

BRNBDOG

Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll have "HOBBES". For some reason in Mass. it takes up to 12 weeks to get vanity plates. Waiting...patiently...
