Where are you from?
Cabriopilot, you crack me up. YES, it MUST be that they're afraid you're coming for their parts!!But like Btwyx said - current location is significantly different than where you're from originally....
I'm begining to see patterns, here...Hmmmm...In reverse chronological order, I've actually lived (not just visited):

YA....I agree. What makes the location so frustrating is when somebody asks a question on NAM, pertinent to their current location - YET DOES NOT INDICATE THEIR LOCATION - ........ As Bill Engvall would say: "Here's your sign."

I'm FROM the Pacific NW (OR, WA & AK)... but currently reside in Tennessee. I like TN, but it isn't the PNW (let alone there isn't any Salmon fishing here
). The dealer asked why I wanted the LSD, and I told him the car would be driven in the PNW someday...

Well in my case my license plate could tell you my permanent address (though not my current one...). Though the fact remains that everyone driving around me could potentially know.
And? I mean one's address is hardly classified information. It's public record. There are dozens of ways to find out someones address, most easier than tracing plate numbers. I mean it's no big deal, I just wonder why people obliterate their plate number. What do they think will happen to them if it is seen online as opposed to on the open road??

A gal I went to college with met a guy through a chat room on the 'net. This guy seemed really sweet online, and they talked quite a bit. When she got her new car, she sent him a picture, but failed to black out the license plate.
Within a week the scary SOB had gotten on a plane and showed up on her door step asking her to marry him. She told him no and asked him to leave, so he sat out in his car in front of her house, and then one morning, he followed her to class. She notified campus security, who called the police. She had to borrow cars from her family and friends, and couldn't sleep in the same place twice, and had to wear different wigs to class until the police finally caught up with the guy as he was getting on the plane back to his home state.
Luckily, this guy was relatively harmless. He just didn't expect her to say no, and had nothing better to do with his week. A little creepy yes, but in truth, harmless because there are so many worse things that he could have done other than just follow her to class one day out of sheer boredom.
Two words: Crazy Stalkers.

And not really considering the fact that it is seen by hundreds every day. Myself? I don't really worry about it. My plate is Virginia "40 MPG". (watch, I'll probably be shot at tomorrow)
As for the photos and licence plate thing, I've decided if the MINI has a custom plate I won't blur it, if it has a boring sequential plate I will blur it. If you have a custom plate, you're not trying to hide, they're not anonymous. A sequential plate is pretty anonymous in public, you're drawing attention to it in particular if you post a photo of it.
And for the record this picture was taken by someone else that was impressed by the meaning of the tag.
Aren't you going to change it to something like "BEARLVR" or "BEARFTR" something? Just kidding.
