Most Green Cars of 2008 - MINI makes the list!
I did a search for this to see if this article had been posted before, I didn't see it, so here we go!
MINI (specifically the clubman) made the Greenest Cars of 2008 list on MSN. I'm glad people have acknowlegded enviornmentally freindly vehicles as well as hybrids, and not just strictly praising the best overall MPGs!

"If you want to drive the most environmentally friendly or "greenest" vehicle, you need to think small or think hybrid."
I will say thinking in MINI is not thinking small it is thinking BIG
happy they aknoweledge the MINI.

MSN list o'the day
Today's MSN list of the day for autos sliced the pie slightly differently.
They looked at dollars per MPG - but only consider cars with very high reliability figures altho I don't believe this hurt the MINI.
Curiously, this computation puts the Hybrids down a few notches cuz of their higher purchase price (even w/out dealer markup)
I'm still trying to figure how a Honda Fit Sport Manual comes out better than a Fit Base given they have the same engine/tranny .... but am feeling better about my purchase of a Fit Sport for basic transport addition given Dau got her lic this month....
btw - I still consider my MiNi's 'green' ... the 79 gets 37+ on the highway. Just mentioning the other stuff..... The GEN2 MINI is much better than the GEN1....... I got all 3...I can compare

One day they'll actually take into account the long-term costs of ownership... batteries anyone?
IMO the MINI is definitely one of the greenest cars on the planet. It isn't a hybrid, so it doesn't use loads of nichol (the mining of which is extremely non-environmental friendly), but it still manages to get near-hybrid mileage. The S' engine's performance vs mileage ratio is incredible.
