Disturbed! This stuff makes you do really crazy things, and makes you a little too agressive while driving a MINI, or any vehicle for that matter.

How about your opinions?

I entirely agree...I used to listen to stuff like that to 1. wake me up before school back in h.s. and 2. get my blood pumping before a track meet or soccer game. It'll get the adrenaline going for sure...

Deep Purple: Highway Star.

Nobody gonna take my car
Im gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna beat my car
Its gonna break the speed of sound
Oooh its a killing machine
Its got everything
Like a driving power big fat tyres
And everything

I love it and I need it
I bleed it yeah its a wild hurricane
Alright hold tight
Im a highway star

Nobody gonna take my girl
Im gonna keep her to the end
Nobody gonna have my girl
She stays close on every bend
Oooh shes a killing machine
Shes got everything
Like a moving mouth body control
And everything

I love her I need her
I seed her
Yeah she turns me on
Alright hold on tight
Im a highway star

Nobody gonna take my head
I got speed inside my brain
Nobody gonna steal my head
Now that Im on the road again
Oooh Im in heaven again Ive got everything
Like a moving ground an open road
And everything

I love it and I need it
I seed it
Eight cylinders all mine
Alright hold on tight
Im a highway star

Nobody gonna take my car
Im gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna beat my car
Its gonna break the speed of sound
Oooh its a killing machine
Its got everything
Like a driving power big
Fat tyres and everything

I love it and I need it
I bleed it
Yeah its a wild hurricane
Alright hold on tight
Im a highway star
Im a highway star
Im a highway star

Given the apparent link between fast, progressive music and agressive psychological side effects, it would seem that nearly all of my music is not suitable for use while driving.

I once helped my son organize an experiment when he was in Junior High. He blind-folded a subject and had them work through a maze with their pointer finger. Every time they made a wrong turn he would make them start over until they were finally able to go through the whole maze without making a mistake. All the while they were doing this they had to listen to music on earphones. One group listened to heavy metal rock music, and the other group listened to classical music. The group listening to the rock music ended up with a faster average time than the group listening to classical music. However, statistically, they made significantly more mistakes in doing so.

Conclusion, if you listen to fast music while you're driving your MINI, you're probably more likely to drive faster and more likely to make a mistake while doing it ... on average.

Not so much when I'm driving, but listening to EMINEM really does put me in anger mode. There a few songs I have on my "MINI FAST DRIVING" iPod playlist, though.....

Enya on the Dragon!?! Are you crazy? That's like...like...suicide by molasses!! Except for March of the Celts, of course....

You want only-music-no-lyrics-cool-fast song: try Assassin's Tango from the Mr. & Mrs. Smith soundtrack. It takes a minute to get to the good parts, but... ! And Blood of Cuchlainn from Boondock Saints. And...well...all the soundtrack from HITMAN. (I know it's gory, but I like that movie!)

That sounds like a great and very interesting experiment. I don't doubt the results for an instant! I guess it's all psychological. Good thing I'm already nuts.

Lol, those of you who remember, how 'bout Jethro Tull?

That man makes me ANGRY just standing on one foot and playing the flute!

Ok, another kind of music, soft, classical chamber music. My dad, rest his soul, listened to that music all the time while driving, put me to sleep in about 30sec.

... and, Steve Perry. Every time that man hits a high note I feel like strangling someone.

Exactly.... as the title of the thread says "Music you should NOT listen to while motoring" and as to by molasses - yes but specifically on a very cold day

I think Jethro Tull would be GREAT driving music...

Now, Steve Perry...I'm right there with you!

"Excuse me, Steve, but if you make one more sound, I'm going to punch you in the larynx."

Ride of the Valkyries always gets me into triple-digit speeds.
Also, Radar Love, that song really gets me moving.

I listen to so many different types of music that a lot of things can be great or horrible driving songs.
