Removing rear seat backs?
I'm trying to replace one of the rear fold down seat backs in my '07 MINI. I've ordered the new one but would rather do the switch-out myself.

Do a search -- there are excellent posts on this in the nav/audio forum on replacing the speakers in the R56.
There's a clip in the centre that you can undo with anything flat bladed; that releases the centre post on the back seat section.
Now for the secret (promise not to tell anyone!) -- to remove the seat, you have to tilt it forward to about 45 degrees -- and then you can pull it loose from the side attachment.
Look for the pics -- they make it easy.

Just a heads up...if you have an '09 you do not have to pull the 4 grommets that cover the child safety anchors, actually I don't think you physically can without breaking some plastic, its part of the seat and hooked in. Just pull the seat up and towards you, it all comes out, the seat and grommets together...nice and easy!
