I am currently looking at buying a used MINI, and I would need to have it shipped after purchase. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a reputable company? Or some price estimates? (I'm currently looking at shipping from Michigan to California).

i'm doing the opposite move in a month!

years ago i shipped a car from houston to la and it cost me about 500 bucks. company i used was called cars on a truck and they were decent. recently moving company told me it'd cost about a grand to ship a car from la to ann arbor maybe you should buy local

 

So far the cheapest I have found is around $1100.00

I DID try shopping locally, but could not find one that I liked..

If anyone out there knows of a cheaper way to ship please let me know!

I did find a somewhat reasonable quote from DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers), $695.00, but who knows if they are dependable or not...

 

I used Highline Transport (877-881-0705) to ship my Audi A4 from Florida to Texas and it was about $450. Arrived very fast and it was a flawless service. Not sure where they all ship to but check it out...

The rate is, on the average, $1/mile. Longer distances can be slightly less.

 

I've shipped many cars over the years and I would say use these few words of the wise

Don't go with the cheapest

Don't use a broker, talk to an actual owner operator. Brokers just take a big cut and won't follow up with anything.

Make sure they are insured
