Are you contagious??

Alright so I have been wanting a mini for about a year now, and through my admiration I talk about "my mini" nonstop. Well whenever I see a mini motoring i jump up and down in my car and start smacking whomever the poor soul that is sitting next to me, and i scream, "mini mini mini!!!"

Ok well this seems to have spread to my family and friends. Nonstop i will get pics sent to me of minis in parking lots, or even on the roads (yeah they take pics while driving, thats how bad it has gotten).

I think i have heard in one of these forums that someone had there minis pic taken by a stranger. I just . And think, yep that stranger probably belongs to me and i gave the sickness to them, im spreading the MINIAC virus, are you??

A friend of mine test drove a MINI and liked it, then asked me how much pick-up it had on the highway (I mentioned my top speed) and whether it was good in the snow (I mentioned 2-1/2 hours in a Rhode Island blizzard last December) and handling (torque, hugs the corners). I also recommended my MA's dealership.

She recently got a PW/B with black mirrors and loves it.

I wave or give thumb's-up to other MINIs on the road, and all passengers in the cabin are instructed to keep an eye out for them. So now, even when my wife and daughter are driving around by themselves, they do MINI spotting, and then say I infected them.

The other day I got a call from my wife who was driving down the Parkway. She'd just spotted a B/W MINI with white bonnet stripes and checkerboard mirrors. She said it was cute and figured it would make my morning at work. It did.

I believe the word obsession has come up a few times in my car. I don't hit the passengers but I do point like a 2 year old and say mini several times when seeing one. Maybe I'll grow up one of these days, I'm not looking forward to it.

Yep <-- Guilty. I infected my whole company of soldiers (MINI spotting made the very long convoys across Germany MUCH more interesting) and I've pretty much done it to a number of co-workers. And yep - the smacking-the-poor-soul-in-the-passenger-seat helped with the infection.

If you are a good MINI owner, then you will do all of the above ^^^^ if not then its just like the mean owners that don't wave, so be obsessed and proud

Hey we can be the new punch buggie haha

Yes the gf calls me obsessed, but now she talks about MINIs more than me and really enjoys meets and waving

My kids call out "MINI". Even better, the neighbor kids scream "MINI!" when they are with their parents! Spreading the love. . .

My wife accuses me of being to "obsessed" with the mini.
i have my 9 yr old wanting one already, he said his will be black w/white stripes with black leather int w/white lines on the edge (piping).

he is always the one pointing out the mini's on the road before i even get to.

It is contagious. My wife ordered and bought a HC Clubman in March, two weeks later our close friends bought a 2004 Cooper and then a week later I bought my Copper S and then someone down the street just bought a new one. All this in the past few months. And that does not include several people we know that want to order one in the next month or so. It is spreading.

Yikes! They got it bad!!

Now that i talk about my mini so much my parents talk that they are getting a mini also. So when im messing around on miniusa.com, they say ooooo build "my mini" what do u think it would look like.

Its a small price to pay for when we are in the car and i get into one of my hysterias if a mini goes by

I instruct any and all passengers of their responsibilities upon entering Piper:
1. MINI spotting (never hurts to have an extra pair of eyes on the look-out)
2. MINI waving (if one is spotted)
3. Proper use of the vernacular (i.e. Motoring, boot, bonnet, etc).
4-1000. More mundane rules regarding banned items, do not touch items, etc.

Some of my colleagues now MINI spot regardless of the vehicle they're in.

My mom called me at work today (I work at Starbucks... and I tell her to only call me in emergencies). So I step off the floor during our mad hour rush (should be renamed to every hour rush) and she was like "I saw a mini!" I didn't even have time to tell her not to call me at work about minis... but it sure was funny!

Ah, that's what I like to see. Someone who is not just a MINI lover, but who likes to play Cupid as well!

My wife sort of has me between a rock and a hard place. When we're riding around in MS MINIVER, and I spot and wave at other MINI's, I'm being weird. But if she happens to spot the MINI's, then she's just being nice. Personally, I just think she's jealous that I now have another woman in my life!

Everytime I see one, one song pops in my head.

"Buddy," by De La Soul, off their 1st album, Three Feet High and Rising.

edited to add: I guess I should 'splain that, no? The opening lyrics are "Mininiminimini!"

Though, to be accurate, they're probably "Meaniemeaniemeanie."

I'm so contagious, my girlfriend went out and purchased a MINI before me. I also get the cell phone pictures from student workers and friends of MINIs they spot in the wild.

But my favorite thing is how MINIs tend to congregate in parking lots. I don't know how bad everyone else is, but if I see another MINI in a parking lot, I'll try to park as close as possible. Reduce dings, increase motoring karma, and increase overall bulldogishness of the area.

I'm thinking Mozzarella. I'm thinking Little Italy. I'm thinking that I've suddenly gotten very hungry.

Cool. But I'm still hungry, with visions of veal parmigiana and spaghetti in a thick tomato sauce dancing before me, enticing me...

Interesting,
I think he has one of the greates voices. him and Peter gabriel as well. Who sings the closing song in Wall-e. I recognized the voice and style almost immediately.

Yes the Mozster, thats not me but a nice tattoo of the Moz. I love the Smiths, previous MINI's name was Sheila as in takes a Bow. Another NAM member I met in a Central Cal MINI Club Run is Viva Hate she's also a fanatic.
Seen an screenname of StrngLove wondered if it was in reference to DM.

Another one of my favorite (current) pics of the Moz in Chivas soccer team gear in LA. Great show

AH! He's my all time hero and idol. We went to see him at the Hammerstein Ballroom here in NYC a few months ago and got really close to the front. I nearly did a wee. He is the epitome of cool. The Smiths were the greatest band of all time.
