Run over and a wave in less than 30 seconds

I was leaving work today and another Mini kinda cut me off to get a parking space but was all innocent and she waved. I made a right turn into traffic and just up head immediately was a red light. I stop and another mini goes by and waves. I have been seeing a lot of minis on the road now but this was really unusual as if someone was trying to say something to me. "Of what I have no idea". Just thought I'd share.

I like when people with the same car wave. Makes you feel like you're part of a community. It wouldn't make much sense if you were in a Corolla, but for something like a Mini it's great. I used to be a CRX enthusiast and other CRXers did the same thing. Same with most bikes.

. . . and Vettes and Jeeps.

The other day I was driving behind a Vette. Coming the other way was a MINI followed by a Vette. We had a 4-way wave The 2 MINIs waving as we were abeam and the 2 Vettes doing the same at the same time -- kinda weird. . . but it made me smile.

That's cool - the 2x MINI, 2x Vette thing.

This morning a fellow MINI-er/co-worker and I were on the highway heading to work around the same time. It's a tricky off-ramp-but-wait!-on-ramp-decision-point-craziness area and I was (duh) speeding. We ended up one behind the other, and it looked like a two-car-rally all the way in to work! I opened my work email this morning to find a "Hey Mario Andretti!" greeting from him. I plead, "the sun-roof made me do it."

Yeah my first "car" was a beat up old Jeep CJ7 (basically pre-wrangler wrangler) and I used to get (and give) waves all the time, even if it was a bit ragged (I mean full of character!). I loved that old Jeep, even if it was a dog. This was before Internet forums and the like so I didn't have an online group like this, but it was nice to feel a sense of driver community out on the roads.
