Insurance insurance companies don't up your rate for things that aren't your fault.

I have St Farm Insurance, which sent me to Safelite. Safelite bungled the replacement, and now it's costing St Farm a few dollars less than 3000.00 to put in an OEM windshield and to fix all the damage to the safety camera and electronics, etc. Car was in the shop for 3 weeks waiting on St Farm to send someone out to verify the replacement windshield caused the damage. They paid every penny, but, I'll never have Safelite replace another one, that's for certain. Now, St Farm is raising my rates because of my "claims history". I've had two accidents in the past 3 years I've been with them. One was at a redlight when a girl on a cell phone hit a car behind me and the entire wreck was pushed up into me, and the other was in a parking lot when my car was parked and someone backed into me. Both times, other drivers were at fault and both times the other drivers were also covered by St Farm. Then, this windshield replacement, and RE-replacement. I'll be changing insurance carriers as soon as I give this new windshield repair time to make sure it's fine and there aren't any hidden problems....until then, I have to keep St Farm on the hook for the original screw-up.

Most of the time Safelite uses their own supplier for glass which is made in Taiwan. The glass is cheaper and you can see very small imperfections. If you get OEM MINI glass or PPG you will pay more, but the fit and finish is nicer. You should not have imperfections.
