General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
I'd like to suggest Matson for your car shipping needs this time around. I shipped my car from Hawaii to Seattle a few years ago (I bought it in Hawaii) and had a very good experience. They did lose the bottom part of the antenna (the plastic thing) and replaced it with no questions- just a simple claim to file. Don't know if they ship to the California coast but you could ship to Seattle and start your trip up here. The shipping time was also very short- like 10 days or something like that.
Stop back into Louisville! We will take you to dinner, or lunch, or whatever
You know, we may just do that. I'm waiting to see how we're going to get all this stuff (and these two cars) to VA. Could be a wonderful thing, could be a mess. It could also mean not driving the Mini but shipping it.
And Reid, what are you, my doppelganger? http://bit.ly/w1e4jo I'm probably done with road races as well. Been flirting with longre distances; just need to figure out if my body is going to hold up or come apart at the seams.

Ha, maybe so. I enjoyed looking through your blog! I remember my brother taking me on some kind of trail there in Oahu. Can't remember where exactly it was, but I know it took you by some plane wreckage? I will admit, I have been involved in the ultra running community for about 20 years or so. I have always loved the challenge of the lengths, as well as the unparalleled beauty of what you can see while trail running. To me, there is little else as pretty, and gratifying as moving by yourself through a trail in the woods, in the middle of winter, in the snow, at night, with a full moon as your only source of light. Some say we are crazy for doing it, and I suppose to some degree we are. But that can be said of all runners, right?? I tell you, I have been out of shape and run 20-30 miles on trails and hurt less than when I was in slightly better shape and ran the road marathon!!
Wow, i wish i could drive across the country that much. When i was a kid the family had a n RV and i saw most the country with that. So i recommend going to Mississippi and checking out a BBQ joint called, "The Shed". Also check out Sedona, Arizona.
