My Wife Is Not So Sure About ...
[quote=revray;2286095]... our MINI anymore. She loved it at first, and she was, in fact, the one who first suggested that I go out and buy it. But now she thinks that I've gone over the top. And how did I do that ... ? By putting two little Union Jacks decals just under the side vents, and a Union Jack flag in the back on the boot cover, and a Euro plate on the front that says, MS MINIVER. [\quote]
I think (to quote a Victorian) that she needs to just lie back and think of England!
Seriously, for the money you are spending on Ms Miniver, are you also pampering your wife a bit as well? Those things do matter!

Tell her that the MINI is like our male version of the Barbie doll. We decorate them, buy them new shoes and accessories, and show them off to our friends... it may help her understand.
Of course, then WE may need some counseling, but that's another issue...

Justa sounds way cool revray.
But before you do it, I think flowers and a romantic dinner would be in order to, as you so nicely put it, prevent your worlds from colliding. A movie too, but NOT "The Italian Job."
Also, point her toward Terry Pratchett's DiscWorld series of fantasy novels. His 30 books take place on the DiscWorld which travels thru the Multiverse. She'll soon realize there are many verses out there, some worse than others.
Minintrigue you are most aptly named in being so discrete with your quiet mod tactics on the home front.

Our 38th anniversary is coming up this Friday, so I think I'll take your advice, Red Dragon! Other than riding to the romantic dinner in MS MINIVER, I am going to make absolutely certain that our two worlds don't collide! No MINI talk at all, it will be 100% about her.
My husband and I both LOVE our "Sperbie"- WE may be mental but she has become a member of the family! Being Artists, we find it fun and creative to joke, make up stories and "humanize" the 1st car we have ever trully loved!-( such as "Sperbie is taking more baths than we are!")
- Revray- take your wife to a rally like MTTS Boston- where she could take pride in owning a mini, shop together for mini stuff and meet other mini lovers-once she gets the fever-who knows- a romantic weekend could be in store

Yes! And hey, if they come up with a drive-in movie again, perfect time to mix the MINI and romance! (And I'm not talking about whispering sweet nothings to your MINI and offering it fine 110 octane fuel.)
Honestly...
In our house? There is no fighting over the new mini.. His is an 08 MC.. mine 06 MCS.. they don't compare as far as I am concerned.. I don't like his mini.. I like mine.. zoom zoom zoom.. his.. slow on the go but steady as she goes.. He likes it that's all that matters.. His is great on long trips.. awesome gas mileage.. mine is great for spirited zippy kinda drives..

people without OCMD... i live in a town with a ton of what some would consider "rednecks"... huge raised trucks, etc.... there's no love for Ollie :(
I have been trying to convince my girlfriend to trade her civic and forester in for a mini, and we finally came to an agreement. in a year or two she will buy a mini if i pay for anything she wants to have put on it. Had this conversation while i was putting my areo kit grille and blackout belt line kit on tobey.. i may just have her hooked yet. Oh yeah, taking her to MTTS boston as well
