Opinion on this idea needed!

OK all you motor gurus. I just read this on cnbc.com today. It's about converting your car to use water to run on. You have to buy an inexpensive unit (money back guarrantee), the auto companies are in discussion with this individual as well as the government (US). He is converting a Hummer to run on water (gas back up). His car has already been converted & he seems to know something about this as he is a welder. Here is the URL, it sounds a little hoakie in the beginning but read/watch the entire video & then respond. Funny, I found it on cnbc but it was first report by FOX NEWS.

Interesting .... I really hope that works and can grow to the auto builders.
It is tempting. I have a couple of vehicles that I could play with.
(ahhh ... not the MINI ...yet)

I believe the appropriate word for this is SCAM. All they're doing is using electrolysis to create hydrogen and oxygen gas from water. Is your Mini set up to burn hydrogen? I know mine isn't.

It's still pure B.S., no matter how many times you post it!

From: Washington. No, the other one.
Well, it's finally finished. I've installed the 100 mpg carburator on my MINI, attached 4 cow magnets to the fuel lines, wired the fuel tank to the alternator and filled the tank with water from the Great Salt Lake, cut grooves in my pistons, changed my oil to -10w/5, and coated the car with teflon. After a short drive today to test things out, I calculate that the car is producing 14 gallons of gas per mile.
Now I just need to wait for the oil companies to buy me out and I'm set for life.

Read a great book/play called the Water Engine. Its by david Mamet. Its about a guy who invents an engine that runs on water. He is pursued by the Govt and the auto makers to crush him because it would set the world in chaos. In reality an engine that actually ran on water would indeed do just that. This is total bull!

I think its BS too. On Saturday at the track that I take pictures for we had a new sponsor that was trying to sell a product that is just like this for like 800 bucks. tnhybrids.com this one also seem to be a scam and the parent company seems to have scammers set up all over the US.

I've read the document that they sell and it's...
1. Incredibly complicated.
2. Parts are not "off the shelf"
a. Hydrogen/Oxygen generator
b. Hytronics Module
(just to name a couple)

That said, they do give instructions to build everything, but if you've read it, it would require quite the engineer and quite a few resources that are not easily obtainable.
I'll save total judgment until I see a running car in my driveway...
