Sell MINIs?

Hmmm I have a sales background and I just thought to myself today why not Sell Minis? Well that and visiting the dealer today and all the shininess went to my head. But I seriously was going to work for lexus before, only I had license issues then, as in a suspended one. Its all fixed up now but just an off the wall question whether anyone here even knows if they might hire me? like if theres a background check or if I had too many tickets or something maybe they wont? Cause when my license got suspended it was a lot of hell and I had to do like 30 days clean up yuk it was so NOT fun. But it wasnt even DUI and I think I got slapped harder. anyway......

Sounds like your hiding something already. Seriously, if youre license was suspended there must have been a reason. I seriously doubt an auto dealer would hire someone who had a suspended license. Of course you can take your chance and just not tell them, but if they do their due dillegence, I would imagine that would come up

thanks

No not hiding anything. My license was suspended because of no insurance and I got in a accident. then I got caught driving on a suspended like 4 times and each time it made it obviously worse. And its not like I wouldn't tell them but I was basically wondering if I should even waste my time to apply if that would be the case, but I shouldnt even have put myself out there.

If they run a DMV check usually things like speeding tickets show for 3 years. I don't know about other things, but I do know that some states share information on that stuff now, so not mentioning a ticket from another state, thinking they wont find it, doesn't always work. You should be able to go onto your state transportation website and find out how long things stay on your 'checkable' record.

Go in, talk to the manager or better yet the owner of the dealership and let them know you are interested. Take your resume along and be upfront.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained... Good luck.

I agree with bcski, if you have a current license and insurance I would not mention your past transgresions, just be friendly and impress upon them that you'd like to become part of their team and that you're willing to work hard and learn the ropes and be successful.

hmm i was thinking about doing the same thing here in socal. just so i could get people in MINI's and get a discount on my future ones .

i wouldn't worry about anything, i've known plenty of car salesmen with some pretty "questionable" pasts to say the least.

It's a sure bet that if you don't ask, nothing will happen. As for telling them, I would think that being open and honest can't hurt. I'd rather lose out on a job by being open and honest, than by trying to hide something and then getting caught.

I don't know how it is at a dealership but last week, I changed insurance companies for both of my bodyshops. I had to remit a form listing all potential drivers in order to be covered.

One of my employees has a driver's record much the same as yours but double it.

Anyway, I received a letter from the insurance company saying they would insure both my shops but would NOT cover the driver in question unless I had a special 25000 policy to cover him.

Good luck.

Mark

a suspension will report on your MVR, if the application for the position asks if you have had a suspension/accident in the past, you would be best to admit what happened because they will more than likely find out anyhow

Go talk to them and be honest. What's the worst they can do? Say no?

And they say that Dark Silver owners are the smartest... there's proof right there that Lightening blue owners are smart too.

Seriously, I agree. I'd rather them know up front than fire me a week later when they find out.
