7? wow...
It is true tho, the friendliest part..I've been a DCMM member for almost 5 years and have made a lot of friends...or at least, very good acquaintances

It is an interesting interesting social phenom, but the writer kinda got her #s wrong. NAM has over 48k members. Then, there's MINI2, our (largely) European cousins...

Pah! If Texas Cooperites are so friendly, why won't any of them take 2 seconds out of their cell phone conversation to wave back at me?

I think that number may be have been related to Facebook, Katie. Yeah, we've made some fantastic friends in our MINI world. "Cooperites?"

People must not be very friendly in Southern California. I can't even catch other MINI drivers' eyes to try to get a wave.

They were very friendly from 2002 to about 2004/5, but the past couple years there are so many MINIs, I don't get many waves back . . .

Still have a lot of fun chats with non-MINI strangers in parking lots, though.

I wave! But nobody waves back! I really enjoy those conversations in parking lots as well, they are great fun. Whats amazing is that sometimes a thumbs up or wave can really make your day or someone else's day!

Well, hopefully we'll pass each other soon so I can finally see a friendly MINI face.
