My first wave!!!

How cool is that. I got my first wave by a very cute looking chick with great smile while driving over the Vincent Thomas Bridge today.
So this urban legend Mini wave does exist.
Oh yeah, she was driving her ivory Mini Coop.

I got my first a few days ago. Haven't had one back since

Maybe gas prices are making drivers depressed....

So Mini drivers do wave! Good to hear, I will be leaving my Jeep behind and I was wondering if the Mini community waved like Jeep owners do. Sounds like it will be an easy transition!!!

I counted 14 MINIs today on the road in single lane oncoming traffic with return waves or light flashes from only 3. It's just not like it used to be in the early days.

Will do! I live and work in Rockville - which makes for easy commutes but dont spend a lot of time on the roads (except on 28!)

I wave enthusiastically at every Mini; 3 out 4 times I get a return wave, and for the 4th unwaver I tell myself they just didn't see me.

This past Sunday, I was on I-94 in Michigan travelling west towards Chicago when another MINI passed me on the left....She gave a huge, very energetic "peace" sign and I waved back...I was thrilled!

MINI drivers are so cool!

I've had mine since early January--no waves. but i've gotten several confused looks, a few dirty looks, and 2 people flashed me the "bird"

I know some people say that the wave no longer exists since the "MINI is so mainstream now"

but the jeep wrangler people still wave? and they've been on the market forever?

Oh well- i'll keep trying

I thought only the people in my area had a problem. I've had my Mini since October 2007(I'm a Motor-tober Mini owner); I have not had a single wave. Worst than that, I have waved at 5 fellow Mini owners around here and DIDN'T GET A WAVE BACK. Isn't that against Mini-etiquette or something. By the way, I did check the "Field Guide To Good Motoring" and there isn't anything in there about waving. I think they need to add it.
