info on Painting a MINI

I live in NY and I just recently traded in my 2005 MCS (45k miles) for a 2006 MCS (10kmiles) at my uncles dealership in FL.. the deal was great i made an extra $3,000 from it too.. but the story does not end here.. the car is keyed on almost every panal. the insurance is going to pay for the repair. but the questions that i have are:

I would like to paint the exterior trim to match the new car color. do i have to do anything with the trim?

pros and cons about painting a mini? for those that have painted minis any insight would help!!

also if there is anybody with a painted mini Especially black!! pictures would be great!!

Thanks!!!! im not so new to MINIs but I just signed up to this website.. so pointers are good thx again!!!!

there are several people who have painted their MINI's exterior trim and i have seen it on several cars. it looks in a word... FANTASTIC. although i have heard a few complaints that it is hard to keep clean and i believe you have to skim coat them with bondo to get them smooth which down the road could cause cracking. in any event it is totally worth it.
