so I had some issues with my MINI and it's at MINI of Alexander since friday morning.
I'm freaking out here.. I even had a nightmare last night.
I keep thinking those guys would trash the car.. like they would go for joy-rides, smoke tires, scratch and even damage the body panels...
I just can't trust those guys..
I think I have OCD or something.. I don't even hand my keys to the valet ever.. and I never park close the entrances in the parking lot so that I can avoid door dings.. I even walk around my MINI just to see whether someone ding-ed it.
am i crazy? or is this platonic love?

Ruling the curves
well admitting your OCD is the first step. I was a little like that at first but not so much anymore...although you do sound exactly like someone in our local club so its not so odd.
OVERDRIVE
You're not truly OCD about your MINI until you do what I do when I drop one of them off at the Dealership.
I put a sign on the dashboard that says:
DO NOT WASH
unless you have:
Two 5-gal buckets with gritguards
Micrifiber Wash Mitts
Prima Mystique
Prima Hydro
Microfiber Waffleweave Dry Towels
and you love this MINI as much as I do.

They are surrounded by MINIs every working day. Why would they want to take it for a joy ride. Perhaps if it was the latest JCW factory car, or a Ferrari. They are probably bored with MINIs. It's work, after all. Originally Posted by hoonpv

I can understand your reluctance with valets, but MINI mechanics? Don't worry about it.I think I have OCD or something.. The Mini is the first car I've had that has been back to a dealer. I was just like you, very concerned. However just like Robin mentioned, it's work to them. They see them everyday. They know the car in and out. And the fact that my service adviser is really cool makes it that much easier to hand the key over.
Stay away from the valet, park in the middle of nowhere...you'll be fine. I just got my Mini back after 2 weeks. After 3 days I was climbing the walls. Mine had to go out to a paint shop as well which drove my anxiety super high. It was all good in the end though.

RELAX.
Your MINI will be back in your hands soon enough.
In the meantime, you may want to try some relaxation techniques or meditation, maybe yoga.

After reading the original post all I can think about is the scene from Ferris Buellers Day Off after he gives Camrons dads Ferrari to the two shady parking garage guys.
Seriously thought, I understand the worries, but your car is more than likely in good, professional hands.
well, I got the car about a week ago..
The mini spent 3 days at the dealership and came back with a door ding. :( :(

that happened to me once...
i noticed when they gave me my car back and i mentioned it to my advisor
the advisor and service manager looked at it and said theyd take care of it no problem
the car stayed over night to be fixed the next day (because I wouldve picked it up late)
The next day i get there and they just simply painted over the scratched part of the ding but did nothing about the dent (dinged) part
so obviously I was mad and let them kno
my car stayed again over night
the next day I got my car and it was in perfect condition (but only after having fought with them)
oh and on top of that they didnt want to give me a loaner on the 2nd day. i had to fight with them to get that too...
good luck, hope they do it right the first time

I've only had one nightmare ... Took my one month old car in for a recall ...
No problem right ... Well they call the part was wrong yadda yadda yadda , We'll bring you over a loaner to work ... WOW thats service two weeks go by still no car ... Every time I call I get a different story from a different person ... I try to stop by and was practically tackled by the service manager , SORRY you can't go into the shop, Well I just wanted to get my CD case ... Oh We'll get it for you ... So I get freaked out and send a buddy in to find my car ... Well it wasn't in service,it was in the body shop, the entire side was in putty and being sanded down according to the body tech they dropped it off the lift ...Well two more weeks pass and they call me "your recall is done " Well I go to pick up the car and point blank ask the service manager "Do you have anything to tell me ??" No why do you ask ???
I pull a magnet out of my pocket and try to stick it to the car it won't stick...
Long story short They ended up GIVING me a free brand new car
