Hey so in my MC, there is this yellow type grease in the doors and engine compartment. does anyone know the best way to clean it?

 

I believe it is wax. My MA told me that when the car was build they put wax between any sheet metal contact. So like, (Metal)wax((Metal). As the car heats up the excess was will melt and drip off.

 

so what is the best way to take off wax?

That stuff is called cosmoline. It's a rust inhibitor and you can find it on all MINIs.

Simple Green or mineral spirits will take it off, but be careful where you use it. The paint in the engine bay typically does not have clear coat and Simple Green will take the paint right off without clear coat.

 

Denatured Alchohol does a pretty good job on it..
