Now, I've sprayed it off once before, when the weather allowed. And it will never see a commercial car wash.

But as I stood there, soaping, rinsing, running the micro-fiber towel over the damp spots...I was just stunned. I caught myself talking to my mini, for one, as if I was brushing down a horse. But moreso, I was just struck by how each curve, each line of my mini...not any mini..but MY mini...

Hard to explain a zen moment like this with mere words. But yesterday I liked my new mini, and thought it was cool. Today that same car became a part of my life.
I love NAM. Seriously. It's so nice to read about other people who love their car. It makes me feel almost normal. Notice I said almost....

I completely understand about talking to your car and "worshiping" it while you wash it. There's just something about the curves of Blue Belle's hood that just makes me smile. I have never washed a car as much as I have my MINI! Hydro has become my friend.

Hi. My name is Margot, and I talk to my MINI.

It's like a 12-step thing. . . I thought I was way over the top! I LOVE Scoop's curves, I LOVE keeping her clean, and talking with her. Now I can admit it freely (but only here!!!)

BTW- I open the garage door each night and tell her "Goodnight!"
Who else does that? (God, I hope it's lots of you )

Wow...How I connect with this thread...

There have been so many times while washing my car that I think about the luscious curves, the super sexy boot or the frolicking responsiveness of the engine.

In fact, one day when I was out with my MINI, Missy Spankalicious is her name!...I couldn't help but grab the shifter and in a smooth up and down, forward and back motion, coax myself and the car into a super auto erotic frenzy of speed aided driving bliss. The curves of the road held myself at a point where I would never again need Viagra

OK, for real...I feel like a MOTARD now...

OMG! I so almost did this at my first local club meeting. They asked all the new people to introduce themselves and I almost said:

"Hi. My name is Sara and I've been a MINIaholic for about 5 months now. I've come to officially drink the ."

Not directly, but I do lay in bed thinking about the commute to work, and take a detour just to drive her longer... Where.. Wherever the road takes me...

and once I woke up in the middle of the night and got in my car and started to drive... Where did I go? idk where I went but befor I know it I look at the signs and she took me to Chicago... Just on a whim.. No idea why but I had to...

Mom calls in the morn.. "Where are you?.......
ME: IN ** wind in the microphone so she hardly heard me**
ME: in Chicago....
Mom: WHAT!!!!!

lol good times

"Why was I late for work you ask? well its a long story but my lady friend made me take a detour.."

I love my cars...

Get a bottle of Prima Slick and a Starfish Mitt and give that a go.

Either you or the MINI - or both - will need a cigarette afterward.

Don't worry. You'll understand when you get your baby! At least you know now that tracking the ship on its voyage is just the beginning of obsession!

This past wek, I've only looked in the garage to say "aw its not there" but I get it back this afternoon and will be able to say goodnight to the Mini again. =) The kids just laugh.

Yay for MINI love!

I have to admit, I have a company truck (Nissan Pathfinder...ugh) that I drive to and from work, and every time I get home, as I walk up the driveway and see my MINI parked, I cant help but gently run my fingers along the car as I walk to the door...

Almost like letting the car know that even though I can't drive her just yet, I still miss her!

I will admit, I haven't hand-washed my car yet. I got Nigel in August and put him through automatic car washes (which I seriously cringe to think of now) a few times.
Now I'm looking forward to spring and getting all the supplies I need to wash by hand (still trying to figure out what all to get) and really getting to know my car.
I talk to him sometimes, especially when he dings at me for some reason or another. I thank him for letting me know that the roads could be getting icy.
Even my best friend talks to him! So it's not just me!

Hey Montana. Grew up in Missoula, myself, with father's side having homesteaded a ranch outside of Dillon.

Anyways, this is a very helpful thread on detailing from the bimmer forums.
