What if KITT was a MINI?

Since NBC is already defiling the Knight Rider name by making KITT a Mustang, who "can hack into anything that plugs into a wall" (stupidest thing EVER, by the way, haha), what if the bigwigs had, instead, chosen a MINI? How do you think it would fare in the world of Michael Knight and fighting baddies?

Would its Xenons rotate (a la a 6-shooter pistol) to reveal rocket launchers? Would the center-exhaust (sorry Just-a-Coopers, you know execs wouldn't spring for that, they'd be pressured into using an 'S' ) do double time as an oil-slick sprayer like Spy Hunter?

What say you, MINIacs? How would MINI-KITT do, and would it be better than what's sure to be an NBC hopped up, fireworks display of a toy advert? (I'm still going to at least watch the pilot.... :D ) I suppose it would be something a bit like Hammer and Coop, but not sure KITT would stick with the lightning bolts on the sides.

Maybe KARR(KITT's evil twin) will show up later and this time be a Mini instead of an exact replica Mustang. One can only hope. It'd be interesting to see a city car chase with the evil KARR darting in and out of traffic with KITT chasing behind.

The voice would sound more like Charles Nelson Reilly.

The good news is supposedly Will Arnett (of Arrested Development fame) is on as the voice of KITT!

+1

Interestingly, when I got my MINI, hubby decided he needed a fun car as well. He did several test drives, including one of the new Mustangs. His opinion of the Mustang? Interestingly, we now have a Lightning Blue MINI in the configurator, awaiting finantial viability (have to sell a couple of motorcycles first).

Yeah, a MINI would be such the better KITT. Sigh- I wish my internet service was better; I can't seem to watch a whole episode of Hammer and Coop; it times out on me or something. The 15 seconds or so I have been able to see look really fun....

Well whether you agree with a new Knight Rider or not, and the choices they made. It's not like they could get a new Firebird, and at least they went with a Shelby modified version of the car. Not defending the decision but just throwing that out there. At least they are going with a Pony car.

As for a Cooper being KITT I just don't see it, yeah the Cooper could handle better than the Mustang, but I don't see the world accepting a Cooper as KITT, lets be honest they will have a hard time with the Mustang too. However if you have the funds to create a super smart car that will drive for you and hack everything. Why not use a modern super car instead of a domestic pony car?

The GT-R is already smart enough to be KITT.

Did it about 2 years ago ago.
In fact I had planned on offering a kit to do it.

It would block too much air to the intercooler for me, but a nice job though.

auh try again !!! IT DOES NOT EFFECT ANY AIR FLOW

The LED strip is less then 3/32 thick. The control is mounted in the cockpit.

And when I spray water through the scoop on track days? Or I'd likely dislodge the led strip with the spray wand.
