maybe i am missing something here, yes i can see similarities, but its nowhere near blatant copies like what you guys seem to refer to... maybe i am wrong, but if you ask me, there are aspects that are copied, but come on, people where i came from had done ALOT worse, such as: http://www.motorauthority.com/cars/b...over-x5-clone/
the mini rip-off almost seem like they are at least willing to try, the above is EXACT

RANT START

oh yea, i was i china over christmas, it isn't a knockoff for GM products, GM is #1 in china, the car's the same, built by chinese using chinese components, Licensed by GM, VWs are also built under license from VW

and just another piece of information, there's no such thing as imports, no one can afford them (ferraris and stuff are brought by people who can afford to bypass the government, so let's not go there), so if you live in china, either pay the hefty fine for what you guys call a 'proper' car, or buy the dirt cheap chinese car as its all there is

while we are on the subject of china, i want to point out defenitely not everyone is out to copy, considering how many years has china lived in its own little world, and inorder to catch up, what's the quickest and cheapest way? copy others and make it cheap! does it mean they are all bad people? somewhat, but does it also make all Chinese only knows how to copy? NO

i feel sick to the stomache, its just sickens me how narrow minded others can be

rant over...

That's hardly an excuse to rip off everyone else's intellectual property.

Isn't the tax on imported cars 100% over there. That's what I heard a couple years ago.

Might as well be.

You could buy a Lifan 3-Series with pocket change, and it probably weighs half as much as a MINI. You could buy one, track it, and get another one when the suspension collapses and it flips over in a corner.
