I am originally from West Virginia and would like to come back. Went to Marshall. Live in Midlothian VA now. Not a MINI owner yet but have a Clubman on Order. Where do you go for service? Hard to bekieve they don't have a MINI dealer in Charleston or Huntington. I would guess Ohio or Kentucky.

Hi! You're from WV and went to Marshall - that's good enough for me! I'm interested in hearing about the Clubman when you get it. There are no Mini dealers in Charleston or Huntington...or anywhere in Kentucky (at least the last I checked). I bought my Cooper in Cincinnati and will get service in either Cincinnati or Columbus. I could've gone to Pittsburgh too but it's a little farther for me (I'm in Huntington).

I'm just trying to get an idea of how many WV Mini owners are out there - I only see 5 other Minis in the Huntington area regularly and I've only found a few on here. If we had some more, I'd like to form a club (even if it was just a little club)....

So where in WV are you from? When did you go to Marshall? (I'm a MU grad myself)

Currently living in WV, there's a few of us on the boards. I'm on the panhandle side though right outside of DC.

Panhandle counts. I'm sure it's easier for you to do things with the DC area club but I'm just trying to see who is out there now....and, if something does take off, I don't see why you couldn't be in both.

Definitely! Plus I'd love to see more of the state, I'm a Philly girl who moved here for my job so I don't know much outside of this area.

WV has a bad reputation but it's really a beautiful state! And lots of fun curvy roads perfect for a little "motoring"....

Originally from Beckley, then to Fayetteville, and then to Rupert in Greenbrier County. My brother lives in Charleston and the rest of my family lives in Greenbrier County. I only went to Marshall for 2 years and one summer (1976-1978 and summer of 1979).

I was born in CA but grew up in Grafton, WV. I moved back to CA but I always say I consider WV my home. I want to move back to that part of the country some day. I love the seasons, trees, slower pace; you know what I'm talking about! Enjoy! Have fun motoring around those Blue Ridge Mountains. Maybe I'll join you some day...

I've lived in WV since I was in 2nd grade. It is home.. And there are many fun, curvy roads here!

I grew up in Ritchie County and now live in Marion. I think motoring thru Ritchie county is the most fun. I know the road well and it's country motoring! Just watch for the deer!

"just watch for the deer" should be the moto for roads in WV.

Well, there are a few of us out there....I was just thinking that we could maybe form a little group....compare fun roads....chat....hum a few bars of Country Roads....whatever. And, if it all works out, maybe do one or two events a year. We're too spread out to do something frequently but one good event....an overnight drive or something....could be fun. I'm mostly just thinking out loud, though (and mostly from the jealous part of my brain that wishes I lived closer to other Mini owners). What does everyone think?

I'm in PIttsburgh but spent a good amount of time in WV. You guys* know you're always welcome at PittStopMINI events in the Pittsburgh area... we're also looking at doing some events south of the 'burgh.

www.pittstopmini.org

Website is being revised, the new event schedule should be up shortly! Some fun stuff happenin'.

(* "guys" is a non-gender-specific term for me)

Not from W.VA, but just wanted to tell y'all it's a beautiful state. I went up a few times with one of my college roommates (her mom lived there) and I just loved it. We went to the Alderson/Lewisburg (berg?) area. I can definitely see how the roads would be great for a MINI.

You're very welcome! I've actually been considering taking my husband up on a road trip sometime. He's never been to that part of the USA.

CHKMINI, we may be up for a roadtrip one of these days, perhaps even a third Saturday somewhere... let me know maybe a Pittsburgh contingent will make an early morning breakfast run!

That would be great Keep checking the Mid-Ohio Motoring forum for breakfast information and other casual events we have. The breakfasts are held in New Albany (across the street from Outmotoring) which is on the east side of Columbus which would shorten your trip somewhat.

I appreciate the invites from the other clubs too - personally, I'm a bit farther from Pittsburgh but I'm sure you guys in Mid-Ohio will see me sometime.

I'm just curious - I was at the Morgantown Mall on Saturday evening and saw a Mini with the license plate "SPRINGGS" - anyone on here??

Potential WV Mini owner here...

Glad to see a group of WV mini owners posting on the forum. I've been pondering a Mini for several months now, and finally made it over to Cincinnati this weekend to test drive. Now that I've finally driven one, it's on to the pleasant task of deciding what options I can't live without, what color combo I prefer, and then finding where I can find the best deal <g>.

(By deal I'm factoring in way more than just price... if my sales person takes care of me before the sale... I'm sure he or she will take care of me afterwards as well <g>)

On a side note, seems like I've been noticing the same half dozen or so Minis here in Charleston recently... I deliver mail near the State Capital building, and I blame the statehouse employee that owns the red MCS parked near Greenbrier St. for instigating my shopping frenzy <g>.

I'm originally from the Akron, OH area. I've got to point this out because there were so many people from WV in Akron we always called Akron the capital of WV!

Sure wish I had the curvy hills down here in TX.

I went to Cincinnati too - Jay took very good care of me but everyone up there is so nice. I can't help with the Minis in Charleston but I notice the same things about Huntington - I just keep seeing the same five Minis. Congrats on deciding on the Mini and good luck figuring out exactly what you want. If I can help in any way, just let me know.
