Who owns this MINI?
One of each but mostly favoring European exotics, luxury or sportscars.
Sort of like Noah's arc for hobby cars.
How does one have time to drive these? Who does the oil changes?
Where do you park them all?
How many fulltime staff do you need to manage that?
Reminds me of Lady Laura Croft's garage from Tomb Raider II.
Can't complain if there is a MINI present.

I followed that thread on the forum it originated on. Not all the cars are his. Some of them are his friends. But he does still have a LARGE collection. There are many more cars not shown in that photo as well. I think it was 6speed online forum.
I was wondering the same thing, but then I got to thinking - If you have a bunch of cars that would be expensive to insure individually, you could instead purchase a bond from the state, either by depositing cash with the state treasurer, or securing the bond with something like real estate equity.
As long as the amount of the bond is greater or equal to the minimum liability coverage required by the state, that one bond would cover you no matter which car you were driving.
Basically, if you can show that you can cough up cash at a moment's notice in the amount of the state's minimum liability requirement, you're not actually required to carry auto insurance at all. (Assuming you don't have a loan on the car or something else that requires full coverage)
Of course, this doesn't replace comprehensive insurance - it only replaces liability insurance, but I could see it making sense if you have a fleet of cars that you only drive occasionally. Why pay liability insurance on each individual car when you can use a single surety bond to satisfy the state's requirements, no matter which car you're driving?

Right, Scott... if he can show the state he has the resources and actually place a security for the state's minimum liability limits (I'm sure he could take care of most any liability amount, let alone the state's minimum), he can be self-insured.
And it would be his choice to carry Comp and Collision coverage... or not. Someone with that kind of money may well choose not to carry it, even on a 100,000 dollar Porsche.

Looks like the Mercedes SLR McLaren. Quite the collection indeed - NICE!
You guys are missing the point of his garage photo. It's obvious, he lined-up the top 3 cars he enjoys driving the most in the front row!
You don't believe me, just look at the 3 cars inside his garage, a PHANTOM, 3 series BMW and a Rover. If I have the same collection, I'd say those 3 will be most boring cars to drive as well.

That's nothing compared to some of the other stable of cars over on 6speed...
But god, what a collection...*edit* just read the thread, the guy posting the pictures on that forum didn't own the cars, his partner did, but they all do belong to one person.... ah to afford that...
