Did your MINI recieve any damage while in transit??
Had a forum member ask me this question - I then ask my MA (Blair) = Question was this - what term or phrase is best to ask to find out if there was any damage repair to Your Mini before it arrived at the Dealer - When I placed my order - EB Mini emailed me this invoice = in the area That I have marked in RED - is where a letter "D" is inserted to designate Damage disclosure - When the dealer brings up this invoice on their computer - they can click on the letter "D" and it will then show exactly what was damaged and how it was repaired. My MA says he always prints this out and shows the customer - if any damage was done - it is up to them on what they want to do.. Keep in mind - all work is done to BMW specks - most are very minor scratches and pose no problems. Just nice to have this knowledge before you accept your MINI... Knowledge is power...
WELL - the cut and paste of my invoice did not work worth a crap... SO, tell this another way,,,, When you pick up your Mini,,, ask to see the final print out of the invoice -
On the left side you will have
Vin:
Prod. No:
Status:
Act. Prod Date:
Model:
In-service Date:
In this area marked in red is where you will see the D and this is where the Dealer can click on to see further information

Here is what I did in the dealer show room before paying the bill upon taking delivery.
1) told the saleswoman I was going to assess the automobile for transit damage before doing anything else
2) sighted all panels for warp or deviation in countours
3) examined all edges of doors, haches, and hood
4) examined the entire underside of the automobile (brought cardboard or carpet and laid on the ground under the auto)
5) passed a magnet over the entire surface of the automobile
In addition to looking for transit damage, I operated every switch and control before taking a test drive outside of the dealer show room.
I figured since it was my money (and a lot of it), I was going to make sure the product was free of defect.

Did you know that there was a print out showing any/all damage repair?? Some dealers tell this, others may not... You are good to look it over... Still I would like to see this print out... if there is a "D" - I want to see what was done... 99% of the time, no bid deal... then its my choice.. I was also told, it does not take much to NOT allow the MINI to be sold...
