The beater makes perfect sense. If I ever have to move to a area where my car has to be parked on a crowded street then I'm gonna sell the MINI and just buy a beater.

After street parking for a few years in an urban area all the cars on the list are going to be beaters! I could NEVER street park my MINI. I would rather sell it than see it turn into a ding mobile.

Beaters can be fun, it is rather satisfying to run over a traffic cone and not care about damage.
