Had any near misses lately?
I just had one today actually. Dude in a damn BMW cut me off right in the middle of an intersection, so I beep my horn at him. Like a total jerk-off, he reaches his hand out his sunroof and flips ME off. Right, you cut me off, I beep my horn, and you flip me off cuz it's MY fault.
So, whatever, I decide to go around him to get away from this A-hole, and what does he do? He freakin' SWERVES TO HIT ME!!!
I couldn't freakin' believe it. My sister FREAKS out, I slam on my breaks and swerve into the far left hand lane while LAYING on my horn, and the dill-weed looks over and starts laughing!
Some people huh? :impatient

File a police complaint? How does that work?
When I was working "the beat" you could call and file a complaint about pretty much anything. It would be recorded on the daily logs.
A good complaint would involve getting the license plate, and having a good look at the person driving the car, if (when I was working) we had those two bits of info, they could be put into the computer database (ARID) so if the person was stopped by anyone with access to it, the information about your complaint would come up as well. This was also how we also kept track of whether the person was given a warning or a ticket regarding any stops.

Problem is, when you see a jerk like that, it's best to just ignore them and stay out of their way--not pass. You can almost guarantee that someone who flips you off will try to hurt you--I've had it happen to me, and I just let it go. Better to get it out of your system, and stop worrying about it.
We put one in our '64 Porsche 356 because it has dim (old) brake and turn signal lights. Works great! In our case it's a red light bar about a foot wide that attaches by suction cups to the back window. I'm sure the MINI guys have theirs permanently installed.
Geeze.... It seems like the MINIs are just moving targets for the rest of the world.
I know I am always having people move over one me, most of the time I speed up and squeeze by either in the shoulder or the bike lanes. They don't generally realize that they were moving over on me, because I can always see it in their face.
The one thing that really annoys me where I live, is if you leave just a little too much space between you and the vehicle in front of you, people will turn right out in front of you. They can't judge space properly, and don't understand the concept of getting up the speed before the vehicle that they turned out in front of reaches their rear.
There was one Toyota Corolla the other week that turned out in front of me as I was doing about 65. I honked and squeezed between her and the guard rail so that I didn't PLOW into her rear end or wind up in oncoming traffic. Of course, as I got in front of her she started flashing her high beams at me. Had I had a car ANY wider than the MINI, I would have clipped her or the guard rail.

I have a red car, but I still find headlights on significantly reduces the number of people pulling out in front of me--highway and otherwise. 'course I have Xenons, so they're extra bright!
last week i was driving up to an entrance ramp for the highway and there is a cross street right before the ramp. A guy in an old Caprice decided he could pull out in front of me while i was doing 50+ going down hill. I hadnt ever skid in the Mini until then. He was watching me the whole time and he was incredibly lucky he didnt get t-boned. such is life.
Sometimes I wonder why I got a bright red MINI, since people don't seem to see it anyway. (Actually, because I love the color.) Almost got nailed again!
I was turning left onto the frontage road for the freeway, which has an almost immediate entrance. There are two turn lanes--left turn only, and left turn optional. I was in the left turn optional. I made the turn and was just starting to get into position for the entrance, when an SUV crossed my bow, making a right turn! Fortunately I'd extensively practiced the ABS-braking-AND-sharp-steering maneuver at the Houston Chapter BMW Car Control School, because I sure used it today. Actually chirped the tires, which I haven't done in 15,000+ miles in my MINI.
Turns out she was turning into the local Best Buy parking lot, from (can you see it coming?) the left turn only lane.
Lord help us--it's getting close to Christmas...

I'd buy one today
Driving home from work a guy on a harley tried to go around traffic at a red light and pulled out and almost crashed into me. It gets better. I made my turn and the next thing I know this clown is trying to run me off the road on a motorcycle! He was having a serious case of road rage. I did not want a confrontation, so I hit the gas and zipped around a couple of corners and he did not have a chance. Lucky he was on a Harley not a sport bike.
Yes last night I had a very close one. I'm sitting at a red light. I look into the mirror & see a SUV coming up behind me. He was moving pretty fast. I'm thinking how is he going to stop that tank. Well as it turns out stopping & red lights weren't on his agenda. Lucky no one was in front of me. I dropped the clutch & turned right. He blasted right through the light behind me as I turned.
I turned & followed. It was a soccer mom on the phone with a car load of kids.

I ordered mine online(can't remember where), it's a little unit that you stick behind the 3rd brake light and wire into the light, no extra lights to attach just some rewireing.
This one is a near miss but completely my fault. I was taking a left turn during rush hour out of a side street onto a 4lane rode with a center lane, i saw a gap in traffic but didn't look to see if anyone was turning from the center lane into the side street, almost t-boned a women in an small SUV, gotta love the brakes on the MINI.
