I was at a stop light with my windows down on Central Park West when a young panhandler in a wheelchair rolls up to my window with his hand held out. I shook my head (as I usually do), and he snidely mentions he has never received any hand-outs from Mini Cooper drivers. Needless to say, I did not break his trend. Embarrassed, I drove away.

 

Embarrassed???? Tell em to get a job and get out of the street... Jerk....

 

Yeah, just tell the jerk that Mini owners are too smart to fall for his BS!

 

Wow, harsh. I can say that I honestly never have money in the MINI ever!!! I have an iPass for tolls and I never carry cash or change on me. If they would take plastic then we could work something out.

 

We give to numerous sancitioned charities throughout the year. If someone wants charity from us they have to go through correct channels. If a panhandler approaches me I'll tell them to go to the Union Mission and they will give them the help they need.

 

In my hometown of Lincoln, there are no panhandlers and the homeless all live downtown. The most they want is cigarettes and beer.
