BEAUTIFUL Mini you got there!!! Again, I keep looking at your MINI more than the AM - definitely fits the name of the post.
Why are you using spacers? Reason being, I'm ready to setup my MINI with Outmotoring Coilovers, and according to OM, no problem fitting 225s with 40mm offset, moreover, there will be no inner rubbing as well.
No I don't *need* to use spacers. But running larger spacers in the front than in the rear helps to reduce understeer and provides more stability at high speeds. However I *strongly* recommend using a stud conversion kit if you use spacers...
ok, and it looks cool...

I searched this thread, there are only few running 225s, I think most claim if they go wider than 215s, it will rub the control arm or springs.
Keep in mind that whether or not you need spacers depends on the wheel offset. These SSR's are definitely different than the BBS wheels I had before. If I had run this tire size on the BBS wheels (which I didn't), I would probably have needed spacers no matter what.

Got it! Thanks man!!
I know OM said, just stay away from 45offset, and you will be fine w 225s, BUT only linear coilover springs are able to accommodate the wider tires, with standard springs you will definitely rub inner area.
great looking car's in here. I was wondering if anyone knew how to do a grill like this. I've seen them on here and i love the look.
That is an M7 grill. Well, the upper and middle... the lowest part is stock.
I had the M7 grills on my 2nd MINI and aero grills on my first.
M7 is metal, aero is plastic. The M7 is a lot more open. M7 is far easier to install though it costs a lot more so it depends on what you can spend and how much effort you want to make.

Aero grill on my 04
M7 grill on my 06
i've got a stock Cooper and i have been looking at these. The Aero grill is probably what i'll go with since it's cheaper. I gotta do what i can to make it slightly meaner.
There are a few how-to's on here. It requires a little dremmel action but looks really great when done. The part in the hood fits perfectly, the middle needs a trim.
