Are bonnet stripes removable?

I'm looking at some used R53s, and might want to trade out the bonnet stripes for some aftermarket stripes. Is this do-able? Easy?

Thanks.

Quite removable. Just apply a heat gun, or hair drier... verrrryyyy carefully.

Heat up the stripes bit by bit, and slowly peel them off.

Yep, my MA even mentioned that they can be removed, since I am on a lease I am assuming that sans stripes or custom stripes are an issue on return

NOPE ! Sorry, they're permanent !!

Kidding. They're very easily removed. All you need is a blow dryer, some Goo-Gone, and a pair if those yellow, disposable kitchen gloves.

Put one of those gloves on your non-dominant hand. Hold the dryer with the other hand. Hold the dryer about 2 inches from the surface and sweep it back and forth, going at about six inches of stripe at a time. As it gets warm, start to evenly pull up on the edge of the stripe. Keep doing this until the stripe is off.

Now, remove any glue reside with "Goo-Gone" on a microfiber towel (not an expensive Monster Fluffy). Follow with a good washing. Gone.

Took me all of about 10 minutes to remove mine. Oh... and that included the boot stripes. Of course, others have had near-horror stories about this process.... stubborn stripes that tore and left a lot of gunk behind. Hope your job is easy like mine.

You are a man of few words.

Or I'm a man of too many words.
