Driving Shoe Review
Driving Shoe Review
I have just acquired my first pair of driving shoes. While I have seen some random posts on the subject, I didn't find anything I'd call a review. So, I decided to start this thread. Since these are the first pair of driving shoes I have ever had, my comments may pertain to the breed in general, or just the ones I got. I don't know. Anyway, here goes:
The shoes I bought are from AJ Prindle: ://www.ajprindle.com/products/sku-12918.html. The Jesse Driving Mocs. $59.99.
These are fairly inexpensive, as far as driving shoes go. I ordered them Monday and got them Thursday, shipped ground. The fit is perfect. The shoe is soft leather and very flexible. The sole is made up of mostly rectangular blocks of treaded rubber, rather than a normal full sole. I imagine that is to allow maximum flexibility and still permit outdoor use. ANd they are very flexible. After first putting them on, it took a couple of minutes to get used to walking in them. But the very slightly off-balance feeling soon went away. Walking in them is great. It's like wearing slippers that can take the asphalt. Driving with them is even better. COmplete flexibility, feel and control. And, unlike my usual shoes, my heal doesn't occasionally get cought on the floor mat (which can cause an occasional erratic shift). Finally, unlike some others I have seen, except for the soles, these look like regular wokr casual mocs. And I am wearing them at work today.
The only question at this point is how long they will last. They are relatively inexpensive, but cheaper price doesn't always equate to cheaper quality, or, conversely, a high price doesn't always mean a superior product.
So, who's next?

The shoe is a good shoe for comfortable to, from, around town and just cruising. The shoe fits too slopy to be a driving shoe for the track. You need a tight, not going to move anyway but what your foot does shoe for the track. These shoes are comfortable shoes. I like mine too.
