new vs used cant decide

I'm buying a mini for daily driving, hauling my bicycle/motorcycle, and auto-x

I cant decide which is better, I see all these posts about how the gen1 feels more raw, this I like, but even with mods the performance does not match the gen2

is the gen2 depreciation and a little more power, with lots more possible worth all that?

The gen1 mcs's are all over, I even found a couple jcw's under 20k with low miles

I guess 3000 $ for a gen1 turbo kit would probably put it right with gen2 performance?

Thoughts?

My builds are always LSD (may be hard to find used), premium, coldweather, sport, hypersport, finding used with those options could be a challenge, a new mcs is gonna come in around 27-28k about 31 out the door I think with tax/fees, where used 2005-6's are going for 18-24k, that's quite a big increase

is LSD really worth the money? on the used market it seems hard to find

raw is good, I still regret going from a bmw E30 to a E36 m3, honestly I like those 325i's a lot more than the M3

PS if I buy new I'm really not into all the options, just a basic performance build

I'm a throttle junkie, coming off the M3 the first thing I'll do is bolt on something to make it faster, I rarely drive more than 10mph over the limit, but my foot is too the floor every single stop

I'm really thinking the turbo will have more room to grow, I dont think tooo much hp is wise with the torque steer issues fwd has, but it seems like the turbo has more room to grow, with exaust giving nice gains, nobody has even upgraded the intercooler & boost that I'm aware of
