OK. I get it.

Back to the topic...my Mom (78) was motoring with me (in town for the week) and we pulled up next to a MONSTER truck (so big I couldn't see the top of the wheels)!

She leaned over and looked WAY up to see the monster truck driver looking WAY down. The exchanged a smile and she got the "I love your MINI" thumbs up!

She was quite tickled about it all. Hmmmm...maybe a MINI for Mom? Cool!

Very nice. I had also thought about a herd, gaggle, and den, but murder does come up there near bevy.

I've mulling this over and I think I've got one!

A pod of MINIs!

A few weeks ago, I was up in northern Virginia for some training, and a friend of mine and I were taking my car from a Navy base to a NASA test facility, a trip that involved passing through several guarded access gates. The stars must have been aligned just right, because *every* guard made positive comments about my car, both on the trip out to the NASA facility and the trip back (there was a shift change between the two trips).

The friend I was with has a pretty nice BMW, and mentioned that he's never gotten that kind of attention in his car.

Scott, tell your friend he is NOT alone. I've mentioned this few times already, I own a 2004 M3 (first owner), probably got less than 10 compliments and NO thumbs up at the moment. My 2006 MINI on the otherhand, not kidn at all, not one week has gone by without a stranger giving me thumbs up or telling me how nice she looks.

Again, another story...yesterday, a 2007 Convertible BMW M6 (no plate) was at stop light. My MINI monster was approaching the light - he must have heard the JCW exhaust "popping" few times when I down shifted. We look at each other, and BMW driver (probably in his early 60s) gave me thumbs up. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to give him thumbs up, I couldn't, I DO NOT like the 6 and 7 series, M or not.

One of the reasons I like running with the clubs so much is the friendly excited people waving as a flock? herd? pod? no . . . . bevy of MINIs drive by.
I believe it's a "troupe" of Minis. If traveling too closely (as on a racetrack), then maybe a "formation".

FWIW, SUVs travel in "herds", Minivan's in "pods", small convertibles in "flocks", people around cellphone-using drivers in "hearses" (betcha didn't see THAT coming!)

Troupe! I love it! It goes with the creative and performer aspects of the MINI and MINI owners!

EDIT: Hearse... Never thought I'd love and hate a thread so much.

Skuzzy: For the record, I'm from D/FW and stare at MINIs without any fear of turning gay :P.
