I can only imagine what the Vette owner was thinking - "look at this little British car thinking he can outrun the American Muscle".

Man, the things we have to deal with when owning a mini. Personally, I just enjoy driving her around town, not looking to race anyone.

On a better note with owning a mini - as I mentioned I own a 2004 M3 as well. I get more smiles/looks from women, not to mention 1to1 talks with people when I'm at gas stations or parking lots with my mini vs. my M3.

I think it might be because these MSC's have a rep with the tuner crowd. When I drove mine to work the first time a guy in the warehouse that is seriously into hot rodding was asking me all kinds of questions and checking it out. He has a 650hp Mustang Cobra so he's not into the fart pipe ricer scene but he is into WRC rally and knew the histroy of the Mini. I was kind of surprised the props I got with the MINI but they are well known for their handling and mod-ability.

You're probably right!!

I friend of mine (hot rod mechanic) complimented the mighty mini as well!! In fact I recall him saying, "if my fat a$$ can only fit sit inside, I will love to own one as well. Since I can't fit inside, I'll just shake your car (JCW suspension check) side to side, up and down...and said, the suspension is so tight on this car, you need a bottle opener to pry her open...this baby must corner like its on rails."

I take it as a compliment..the taunting.....lol. If I am on my fav twistie road I can play with em and leave em scratching their heads.

But truly it is more fun on the road race tracks. True if they really wanna race...go to the track and do it safely and full out pedal to the metal.

Mine is as well, but I seem to be universally ignored. Must have something to do with living in Kansas................

Maybe its an attitude thing. I've never had anyone rev or try to d1ck with me. But, I did see an exhibition of speed when I gave a guy in a Lambo a thumbs up one time.

One day when coming back to the office from lunch, I was at the light next to a really bright lime green Lambo. I'd love to have gotten a picture of that.

Yeah, and I didn't want him thinking that - which would also have meant that he was thinking, "WHAT AN IDIOT!" I was actually thinking -

Really, I'd love to have seen how fast the back end of his car could have disappeared, but I don't want to incite street racing.

I just love to keep CHKMINI a mistery to the Ricers! Everytime they pull up beside me wanting to test their decal ridden fart rocket, I commence laughing out loud which just adds to their frustration. Why don't we ever see any of these fart rockets at track day?

Not exactly Marietta, but just south of it on Northside Pkwy (or Cobb Pkwy for people outside the ring )

Today, I actually had some guy in an SUV cut me off and then flip me off when I exited the highway... I'm pretty sure I did nothing aggressive prior to being cut off, anyway. It takes all kinds, I guess.
