iPod connection option

This is for the 2007 Mini S model:
The dealer told me there is an option for a iPod connection (not an aux. connection) that enables the full function of the iPod through the stereo.
I was told that all the normal functions and viewing of the iPod songs, playlists, etc. can be all done through the stereo and, if having a MFSW, can be controlled that way as well.
True?
Thanks,
olcorral.

All true. iPod works great on our '07 with the NAV system. The iPod connector is in the secret dash storage compartment.

Thanks, Impacto.
Next question: Do you need to have the NAV system for the iPod? I've been hearing good things about the NAV system but how much is it?

When I began to pick mine up we went through a list of things that could be added and the iPod connection was one of them and I do not have NAV. For me it's not hard to just use the iPod so I am just going to use the aux port.

The integration of the Nav system with the Ipod & Bluetooth phone is very impressive. The center panel was designed for this option and without it, the analog speedo is huge. We used the Aux port for an XM radio. It was $2100 for the Nav system. Worth it? For us, absolutely.
