What would you do???

I had a problem with my 2004 Cooper at 55,000 miles.

It all began with my Engine Service light.

55,000 - replaced thermostat - I paid
-engine light back on
-head gasket
-engine light back on
-thermastat
-engine light back on
-wiring harness
-engine light back on
-sensor replaced
-engine light back on
about 2 more thermastats replaced....

Each time I left my car for at least a few days and asked them to please get the bottom of things. A buy back was hinted at, but that never developed.

I'm at 93,000 miles and the dealer is unresponsive. It's a lot more difficult to sell a car with 93,000 miles than 55,000. At this point, I am seriously considering a VW bug like the car I sold to buy my Cooper.

I called MINI and they were no help, either. My position is that they know the car had/has issues and how am I supposed to sell it outright with these problems. I commute 100 miles daily to my job.

I still owe on my car. Any thoughts and advice. I LOVE my car, but this has caused me some concerns. A sales person told me in a month, the warranty will be 6 years 100,000 miles. Any knowledge of this?

Thanks in advance!!!

Did you buy it new or used? Others in NAM would probaly be able to help you out. I'm thinking Lemon Law.

Might be time to sell it and move on. Lemon law is probably not an option as they are designed to protect new buyers, not cars that have 93,000 miles on them. At that milage, I would suspect that you are going to have some problems and the car will likely "nickle and dime" you as my father used to say.

Lastly, I think that you need to find someone other than the dealer to work with unless you like paying 175 per hour for labor.

I'd also go and found out WHAT error code it's throwing. It's not hard to do, and could be a free service at some local auto place stores. Then, once you know what's causing the light, go from there.

Me.
