Bad on line dealers.

Madness Motorworks are not to be trusted from their advertisements. I would like to see what dealers that are online should not be dealt with now. I just had a bad experience with one dealer. There is an online auto parts dealer that had an advertised price for a package of equipment to fit my car. Well I shelled out the money after the ad had been up a few days. I was contacted and told I had to pay $400 more then $450. I suggest no one deal with Madness Motorworks. I feel they were trying some bait and switch type of tactic to get more money for the items once they figured out that they screwed up.

I've heard some bad stories about them. What exactly was the item? And what was the up-sell item? Then again if the legitimately screwed up the ad and it was obvious, can't blame them the same way.

It was their 2007+ R56 Mini Cooper S Stage 2 package. They didn't try to up-sell, just wanted 1st $400 then 2nd asked for $450 more. The ad had been up for several days so they must not be very good at checking. The other possibility is they are bad business people. Last possibility is they really do bait people with the ads. Any of those makes me glad that I called off the deal when they asked more.

I have never dealt with them. I'm sure it was an honest mistake. Companies make advertising errors all the time and don't honor incorrect price and nor should they.

This is not a bait and switch.

No it isn't exactly bait and switch. I just have problems thinking that the ad could be up for several days w/o the checking to make sure it was the correct price. I know I sure checked on my ads. Still do if I sell something via ebay.
