I am looking at getting started auto-xing and am wondering how it effects, if at all, my warranty and insurance. I know that it will probably depend on my insurance company but has your insurance company said. Thanks

Autocross??? What autocross???

If I was just doing some recreational club autocross racing, I would not really bother to tell the insurance company nor boast about it much at the dealership, especially if you run in a stock class occasionally for fun.

SCCA stock auto-x. What if you wreck your car or something (I know it is unikely at a auto-x) what would the insurance company say.

when you auto-x you sign a waiver that basicly states you are responsible for whatever happens... also signing the waiver at an SCCA event gives you insurance protection, just not for your car... SCCA carries liability insurance for all solo events.

Sooooo if you wreck your car you pay.... SOME people who have damaged their cars racing auto-X have had claims paid.... the phrase "driver trainning" seems to be the key... but it is a lie. Finnaly keep in mind damage to a car is very rare at auto-x events... I have only seen 2 incidents resulting in body damage to a car... in 8 years of auto-x.
