Little help for Auto-X classification?
Hi there,
I'm running in my first Auto-x (in the Mini S) this coming weekend and they put me in the Stock class. I don't want to be dishonest.
My car is configured as follows:
Wheels/Tires: Stock 17" S-Lites w/Goodyear Runbricks
Springs: Factory
Rear Swaybar: Madness
Intake: Madness
Pulley: 15% Helix Reduction
Any help would be appreciated!

If it is an SCCA event then you are probably in the Street Prepared division...

Without the pulley you could run in STX or DSP (Street Prepared). With the pulley the only legal option is Street Mod (SM). STX is a street tire class while DSP and SM allow R Compound tires. Hope this helps!

If your local club has a novice class, run in that.
See if you can get someone to ride with you and help you learn how to negotiate the course. Everything happens really fast, so you would be well advised to go walk the course at least three times to get a better sense of where it's going, before you get there going fast.

If after walking the course, you can't picture it in your head, Walk It Again. Anytime I've "gotten lost" on course and DNF'ed I know it was because I didn't walk the track enough.

On your later runs you'll be able to follow the blackmarks around the track.Watch the other front wheel drive cars negotiate the course, you'll learn a great deal. Most clubs have novice. You're new at this, learning is more important than winning.
